Andrina Nicola joines the AIfA as a junior professor

At the beginning of May, Andrina Nicola joined the AIfA as a junior professor through the WISNA program. Her group's research combines data from several cosmological probes, such as the Cosmic Microwave Background, galaxy clustering, and weak gravitational lensing, to test and constrain our cosmological model and the physics of galaxy formation. The group is involved in several ongoing and future surveys with a particular focus on the Atacama Cosmology Telescope, the Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST), and the Simons Observatory, and uses these data to probe the key ingredients of our cosmological model such as Dark Energy, Dark Matter, and Inflation. To optimally benefit from these exciting, high-precision experiments, they are also developing novel analysis techniques for cosmological data, making use of methods such as machine learning.
