Astrophysics Code

Jonathan Mackey, with contributions from Andrew J. Lim

Date: 7 January 2010

This is a fluid dynamics code I have developed for my PhD thesis, and this document is designed as an introduction to the code. The algorithms used are described, and the code's performance on a number of test problems is shown with figures which can be compared to other results from the literature.

N.B. This documentation is under (semi-)active development and will probably change significantly.

This code has been used to model the formation of Elephant Trunks in H II regions. The project page is at http://www.astro.uni-bonn.de/~jmackey/elephant.html

This webpage is generated using LaTeX2html so it has some idiosyncrasies. The layout of text and figures is unfortunately beyond my control (it may be controllable, but I don't know how to do it...). References only quote the first author in multi-author papers, so you have to click on the reference to see who the other authors are and which paper it refers to. If there is anything wrong or unclear please feel free to contact me at jmackey@cp.dias.ie and I will correct it in due course.
