MIRIAD 's task tvdisp can be used to run a simple movie -- see Section 16.1 for more details.
A somewhat more interesting movie sequence can be generated by the rendering program, views . This, in conjunction with tvdisp , enables a cube to be rotated in a movie sequence. The output can also be displayed with cgdisp and friends.
views generates a dataset which is a series of frames of a cube viewed as if the cube was rotated about its y axis. The view is also from an angle ``phi'' to the xz plane.
Pixels greater than the threshold are presented at their appropriate value but are opaque (cannot see pixels behind them). This is somewhat of a limitation in views . In fact, if you think you want to use views
what you really want to use the ATNF visiualisation suite.
