  1. Take a train to Bonn main train station.
  2. Take an ICE-train to Siegburg/Bonn and then the tram 66 to Bonn main train station.

Please take note that the two options require different tickets (The ICE is slightly more expensive, but faster). The website of the Deutsche Bahn provides futher information and time tables.

  1. Take the express bus SB60 to Bonn main train station.
  2. Take the regional express train RE8 to Koblenz and leave the train at Bonn-Beuel train station. Then take tram 62 to Bonn main train station. The regional express train operates Mon - Fri from 5:51 am to 7:51 pm at hourly intervals.

The local public transport association Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS) provides an online timetable, a map of the bus station at Bonn main train station and further information.

You may also take a taxi from the main train station to the institute. The trip takes 10 to 15 minutes and costs approximately 15 euro.

Turn right onto the Hermann-Wandersleb-Ring and then right again into Auf dem Hügel. Finally turn left into the street Am Bleichgraben and try to find a free parking spot.

From Koblenz via the A61: Take the A565 in the direction Bonn. Take the exit Bonn Lengsdorf and turn left into the street Provinzial-Straße (it is not possible to take the exit Bonn-Endenich coming from the south). Funding

ALMA users who need financial support for visiting our ARC node are welcome to apply for travel funding, which is available through the Radionet MARCUs (Mobility for ARC Users) network. Interested users should get in touch with us well ahead of time prior to the planned visit.

Accomodation

Comfortable and inexpensive accomodation may be available in the guest house of the neighboring Max-Planck-Institute für Radioastronomie. If you are interested in staying there in combination with a face-to-face visit to the German ARC node, please contact us well in advance of your planned stay.

Unfortunately, the hotel Altes Treppchen, the hotel closest to the ARC node, closed at the end of 2015. But there is a large number of hotels in the city center and close to the main train station.
