APEX-SZ Homepage

Welcome to the web site for the APEX-SZ Project. The APEX Telescope is a 12-meter, on-axis Cassegrain, which is installed at an altitude of 5105 meters on the Chajnantor plateau in the Atacama Desert in Chile. The APEX-SZ team contributed a millimeter-wave bolometric receiver to the suite of receivers installed at the APEX telescope. This APEX-SZ receiver has been used since 2007 to study galaxy clusters via the Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect. Links to our published observations are here.

The APEX telescope, which is a prototype for the ALMA array, is funded by the Max Planck Institute for Radioastronomy (MPIfR), the European Southern Observatory, and the Swedish Onsala Space Observatory. Please note that the APEX-SZ receiver is referred to as ASZCA on some web pages.

(06-07-09): Our article on the high resolution power spectrum at 2mm has been accepted. A link to the paper can be found in our publications page.
