Butler and Fielder
Children: Wiliam, Henry, and several daughters (one of which married a brother of Mary Mapleson).
Mrs Fielder was in 1850, according to granddaughter Frances (FMR) a rather stern old lady, wearing a mob cap, had dark hair and eyes and a rather long hooked nose.
Mr Butler died before ~1840 (FMR).
Son Henry would emigrate to New Zealand and later William was to follow.

Mapleson and Jane Gwilt
The family lived in London. Jane died when daughter Mary was quite young. Mapleson died before ~1840 (FMR).

William and Mary
Children: 1834 Mary, 1835 William, 1837 Edward, 1838 Thomas, 1840 Albert, 1842 Frances, 1843 Robert, 1846 Cornelius, 1848 Septimus(+), 1849 Blanche(+), 1850 Blanche, 1853 Jeanette, 1855 Charles(+).

Mary was (see FMR) about 5 ft 4 1/2 inches. She had large blue eyes, wavy brown hair, and a fresh complexion. She was very quiet and gentle in manner, but at the same time very strict in the ruling of her household, and most particular about the way we children and the servants behaved to her.
She was quite a good house keeper. Daughter Frances says she does not know where and how Mary learned that, as her mother Jane Gwilt died when Mary was rather young.
William was a doctor in Guildford, living in a rented house (he made a painting of that house). But, according FMR, he seemed not to have been very fond of his profession, which perhaps made it not very lucrative.
According to daughter Frances, Wiliam was thin, he had small brown eyes and brown hair, an he was about 5 ft 10 1/2 inches.

The family moved to New Zealand and settled at Ryal Bush, just north of Invercargill, with Williams brother Henry (who had emigrated earlier). Later William turned to farming on his own farm.
At some point in time, the farm was sold and they retired to Riverton in Southland (NZ).
Graves of the family were in 1984 still present in the (then no longer used) graveyard.
