Although you do not have to decide whether to use MFS or not for
spectral line observations (clearly you cannot), there are a few other
issues you must consider. These are discussed in Chapter 15
in more depth -- we only list some pointers here. Some questions to ask
yourself are:
- Do I need to remove the continuum from the visibility data?
- Is the velocity information in the dataset correct? What
velocity system convention am I interested in?
- Do I need to account for the Doppler effect caused by the Earth's
motion?
