Flagging Visibilities

In MIRIAD , flagging a correlation means you set a bit in a mask. There are no explicit weights like in AIPS or ascii flagging tables. When you list visibilities with uvlist , flagged correlations are indicated by an asterisk to the right of the phase.

MIRIAD has a number of tasks to flag visibility datasets. The main ones of use are tvflag (a TV-based, interactive flagger, similar to AIPS SPFLG ) and uvflag (a non-interactive general flagger, like AIPS UVFLG ). There is no MIRIAD equivalent of AIPS \ task IBLED . If you performed flagging in AIPS , and transferred a multi-source file into MIRIAD , you will also need to apply the AIPS flagging table, with task fgflag . There are a number of other flagging tasks which occupy some niche.
