The oldest known Owen is Richard Owen, Burgess of Shrewsbury (Shropshire) 1520. He died 02-01-1576.
His second son was Richard Owen of Shrewsbury and Whitley, admitted to the Drapers company 1572,73. He died 25-10-1594 and was buried at St. Chadds. He married Sarah, daughter of Thomas of Ireland. They had children: Richard Owen (+1652; x Margaret), Thomas Owen, Elizabeth, Sarah, Martha.
Thomas Owen, of Whitley: M. P. for Shrewsbury 1624-40; Lieut.-Col. in King Charles I's Army; later prisoner at Shrewsbury 21 Feb. 1644. Buried at St. Chadd's, 1650. He married "Ann", children ~1620 Thomas, William (+1697).
