Proposal Preparation Tutorials: Radio interferometry with ALMA: Basic terminology and spatial filtering
This brief tutorial provides an introduction to some basic concepts of radio interferometry. In particular it introduces interferometers as spatial filters, as well as the three widely-used concepts of synthesized beam (angular resolution), largest angular scale (recoverable angular scales) and primary beam (field of view). The tutorial is aimed at astronomers and a general audience who wish to become familiar with basic concepts of radio interferometry. If you would like to watch this video tutorial now, please click here: Radio interferometry with ALMA: Basic terminology and spatial filtering
