Summary
We propose simulations of SN driven turbulence in the ISM, with special emphasis on the galactic wind and the effect of cosmic rays on the dynamo process. Simulations with a suf- ficient vertical extension allow the investigation of the disk-halo connection, where we expect new observational insight from observations with LOFAR. The local box simulations provide the input of the sub-grid physics for global models of galaxies. Here we will use and extend a SPH scheme with the potential of a later extension to consider single galaxies in a cosmological environment. The global simulations will providew a better understanding for the magnetisation of the IGM. Differences in the magnetic properties of grand-design spiral and dwarf galaxies will be illuminated with the numerical experiments.
