Formation of Low-Mass Stars in Cooling-Flow Galaxies

(Cambridge, Heidelberg 1989 - 1993)

Applying differential spectral population synthesis to K-band spectra of elliptical galaxies with cooling flows, from which preferentially low mass stars may be forming, we showed that the CO index is a more powerful indicator of the accretion population than broad-band near-infrared colours (Kroupa & Gilmore 1994).
