RADIO GOALS |
The target of project is to study the radio continuum properties of 202 Ultra-Luminous and Luminous Infrared Galaxy systems (U-LIRGs) in the local Universe (z < 0.088), in collaboration with the GOALS team.
The project is devided in 3 sections:
In this paper we use the radio continuum maps at 1.49 and at 8.44 GHz from Condon et al. (1990; 1991) to produce radio-spectral-index-maps (a-maps) and study the variations in the radio spectral index spatially, in order to identify the presence of an Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) in the centre of these (U)LIRGs. The a-maps, as well as NICMOS images for each object, can be found here. We also compare to mid-infrared AGN diagnostics. The a-maps and a pdf of the 1st paper of the project can be found here.
