Ancestry of Richard Martin (*1934)

Richard was born in Uganda, Africa. His father Eric Frank Martin was civil servant in the agricultural sector, his mother was Bessie Phillips. He had a twin brother George and a younger brother Bill.
Richard lived a good part of his life in Africa (Uganda, Zambia, Kenia, South Africa). His ancestors are all from the United Kingdom.

Basic information (names, dates of birth and death, profession) on the ancestors as given in the following pages was collected by Richard himself. Richard provided stories about other members of the extended family, including the family of his wife. Additionally, Eric Martin, Richard's father, wrote down later in life what he knew and could tell about his grandparents, parents and sibblings.

Further research, using exclusively sources available through the internet, was carried out by KSdB in the hope to supplement and to liven-up sparse basic data with documentation, illustrations (if possible) and to provide references.

The information available here is limited to forebears (and their respective children). It is grouped into "quarter-pages",  showing the data in blocks of three generations in a visually easy form.
Dates in the genealogy are given as DD/MM/YYYY.

The layout of the pages is, where possible, optimized for printing. This optimization is based on the combination of macbook and the browser firefox.

To understand the structure of these webpages please look at the overview of quarter-pages.
