In the course of Edwins life he and his family moved many times.
In 1897 he married Charlotte Menzies from Menzies Bay and started with her on a farm near Waikari; their only child Owen was born there in 1898.


Finally, in 1914, they settled on the sheep farm Puke Puke near Oaro (North Canterbury).
Edwin started also with cattle.

The Empire counted sheep in "The Dominion" (NZ)!
