Instructions (02.12.2000):
 

  • Try 2 sessions x 20 minutes of on-off observations: 16 subscans, 10sec, 34-53" wobbler throw  /nosym.
  • Do frequent (every 20 to 40 min, depending on stability) and about every hour, do a short onoff with 4 subscans a 10s
  • Initially to be observed at average opacity
  • Please record under "Obs" the date, scan range, #scans x #subscans, total time, weather, and preliminary fluxes for each dataset.
  • A.O. 4 March 2001 :
  • Do not observe any longer sources quoted DONE (except perhaps those with DONE~). Give priority to sources marked "priority", then to those marked "+4-5scans", then to 5-10 new sources or those marked low priority, aiming at rms <~1 mJy.
  • For new sources give priority to those at the two ends of the distribution, with MB<=-28.5 or MB>=-27.4. Therefore, normally do not observe new sources marked with "very low priority".

    Instructions to replace a source of the main list by an additional source

    It is important that such exchanges do not modify the luminosity distribution of the source list.
    Therefore, if one decides to observe one of the "additional" sources, one should choose one the
    UNOBSERVED sources of the main list belonging to the same luminosity group (there are four
    luminosity groups defined above) and DELETE it from the main list (transfer it into the list of "additional"
    sources).
