Downloading instructions:

The data that will be used during the lecture and for the homework have been packaged into two compressed tar-balls.

1) Please download the files lecture.tar.gz and exam.tar.gz

2) When the download has finished, open a terminal, go to the directory where the files reside and type "md5sum *.gz"

3) Compare the output of the command with the following checksums:
073b7cdc637e7582542ef37662339efa  exam.tar.gz
9f35b291365988a9442b4a465a337a76  lecture.tar.gz

4a) If the checksums agree, please proceed with step 5).
4b) If one or both checksums differ, please download the corresponding file again and repeat steps 2)-4).

5) Unpack the downloaded tar-balls, e.g. with "unzip" and "tar -xvf <filename>". Each tar-ball will unpack into a separate directory.
